Voice Your Support for New York Bioheat Mandate

Your support is needed for pending New York State legislation that would mandate the use of Bioheat in four downstate counties this year and eventually in the entire state.

It will take only a couple of minutes to signal your support for this important legislation to your state Assembly Member and Senator. We have prepared letters that you can e-mail or mail to them. Please see the instructions below for contacting your representatives in the Senate and Assembly. If you prefer, you can telephone them to register your support.

The bills, A10393 in the Assembly and S3028B in the Senate, require use of B2 in downstate New York (Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester and Rockland counties) beginning October 1, 2012 and extend to the remainder of the state on July 1, 2013. A Bioheat mandate would allow every Oilheat dealer in the state to brand his or her product as clean, green, and renewable. It would also help dealers satisfy consumers' growing interest in using cleaner, more renewable, more sustainable fuels.

Although these are consensus bills, we need a strong show of support to ensure that they are voted into law. Please urge your representatives to co-sponsor and champion this important bill and ensure that it passes.
